The Chapel is now closed for the 2024 Season! Thanks for your Support!
Dear Friends of the Holloway Memorial Chapel:
Greetings to you during this Holiday Season!
Our beloved chapel has once again stood the test of time and Mother Nature’s most recent wrath. The storm on December 12th was quite a big one! We are happy to report that just the front gates were blown open and one of our window shutters blew ajar. Our holiday wreath stayed on the front door. Praise be to God!
My father-in-law, Larry Wright was a lay minister (as well as an orthodontist) and wrote a monthly newsletter called “The Good News Letter”. His messages were always focused on staying positive no matter how tough the going gets. With the challenges of the last few years, many of us are looking for hope and something positive.
Jesus said, “Believe in me, have faith and do not falter.”, Matthew 21:21.
May you all look forward to 2022 with Faith. Enjoy this joyous season and celebrate with your loved ones.
The positive thought I’d like to share is that we WILL be worshiping together soon, and it is my HOPE to see you all having those same positive thoughts. Share your light with others and thank the Lord for His guidance. We will not falter.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and blessings to you all!
Laurie Wright
President of the Holloway Memorial Chapel
I wish to thank you for your past support enabling the Chapel to remain financially healthy in 2021. As you know, the Chapel is supported by Sunday offerings and our Strawberry Festival fund raiser. This was our second year without them, so your continued support throughout 2021 was greatly appreciated. Details on how to continue supporting the chapel can also be found on our website.
Dear Friends of the Holloway Memorial Chapel:
Thanksgiving gives us all a moment to pause and look at our blessings and spend time with our family and friends. We gather together and share a wonderful meal and thank the Lord for these blessings. This year more than ever, we are so very grateful for our opportunity to be with family & friends.
Please take a moment and help someone who is not as fortunate as we are. Give your time or a listening ear to someone who needs to be heard. Share your faith and be proud to help where help is needed.
God is proud of all of us. He wants us to be thankful and kind.
"Lord, we thank you for prayer. We are looking to you for guidance, wisdom and hope. Bless us during this Holiday Season and give us strength to be the best we can be.”
I am so happy to have the opportunity to lead our chapel this coming season. God Bless our Chapel Family. We look forward to worshiping with all of you next summer and renewing old friendships as well as making new friends.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Laurie Wright
President of the Holloway Memorial Chapel
Now that the Summer Season of 2021 is officially over, each of our Countries are preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving Day, a fall tradition. The Canadians on Monday, October 11th and the United States on Thursday, November 25th.
These two landmark holidays deserve a moment of our reflection and appreciation as ‘we gather together to ask the Lord’s Blessing’ for abundant harvest and being a channel of hope and light to each and every one of us during these unprecedented times. We have so much to be Thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving Day!
We have all experienced in these many months sadness and heartbreak. We have learned patience and, we have received kindness from others. We are all living day by day hoping for better days to come.
As outgoing President I am certainly hoping that better days are ahead for all of us.
The Chapel has remained steadfast. It looks beautiful and radiant.
I would like at this time to thank all of this year's virtual speakers for their words of wisdom that they instilled upon us through modern technology.
I would also like to thank you, our Parishioners, who in these difficult times have supported us in more ways than one.
The Chapel lives on because of your generous support and I am hoping that you will continue to do so.
We will make next year a much better year and hopefully the Chapel will be up and running. Let us keep our fingers crossed. We should all look forward to the annual Strawberry Festival and our Sunday Services.
Please remain safe and remember to always try and help those in need during these trying times.
Best regards and warm wishes,
Sandy Peters
President, Holloway Memorial Chapel
Stewardship is not limited just to financial support. Sharing your 'talents' can be, perhaps, just as rewarding, to both you and the Chapel.
If you have ever thought about joining our Volunteer Team as either a Committee Member or as a Board Member, please contact our former President, Anne Peters, who presides over the Nominating Committee.
She can be reached via telephone 905-894-2840 or via email @ anninha907@gmail.com.
Thank you for your consideration to assist in the operation of our Chapel.
Dear Friends of the Holloway Memorial Chapel:
At our recent Board of Trustees online meeting, the Board decided to suspend all in-person Chapel worship services this year and to cancel our annual Strawberry Festival. Regrettably, the uncertainty of the COVID 19 pandemic recovery and our concern for the security and safety of our parishioners made this necessary. Although this is a disappointment, we will remain focused on the spiritual life of the Chapel during our 2021 season.
We have a diverse group of guest speakers and will continue to provide a virtual link for online viewing of their weekly messages via our email distribution list, Facebook postings and our Chapel website at: www.hollowaymemorialchapel.org.
Our Chapel Newsletter is also distributed by the same online channels, so to stay informed please make sure to send your email address to us at: HollowayMemorialChapel1@gmail.com.
Finally, I wish to thank you for your past support enabling the Chapel to remain financially healthy in 2020. The Chapel is supported by Sunday offerings and our Strawberry Festival fund raiser. This is our second year without them, so your continued support in 2021 is greatly appreciated. Details on how to support the chapel can also be found on our website.
My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you, your families and loved ones. Be safe and remember to take time to help those in need during these challenging times, until we can all be together again.
Best regards,
Sandy Peters President,
